September 17, 2008 Newsletter There
will be no school on Friday, October 10. Monday,
October 13 there
will be no school in recognition of Thanksgiving Day. October
Staff Meeting will
be held on Tuesday, October 21. School
will dismiss at 11:38 that day. Grade One Parent/Teacher Interviews: There will be no school for grade one students on Friday,
September 19. This time is set aside for parents to meet with Mrs. Brown-Gust.
Please call the office to book your interview for Sept. 19.
This makes the introduction to grade one much easier as our grade one
students become very tired in the first 5 day weeks. Setting this time for family provides an easier adjustment to
the routine of school. School
begins at 8:45, with lunch from 11:38 – 12:21 for
everyone. School dismisses at 3:14
each day. Attendance: Please remember to phone in if your child is going to be absent from school. Student success is directly linked to regular, daily
attendance so if a student is absent and we have not received notification, we
will call home. Permission to leave school forms titled (General Release
Form) have been handed out to students in grades 7-12.
Please complete and return to the school as soon as possible. Agenda Use: Agendas are provided to all students in grades 1-9 and available to any
High School student who would like one. These are very valuable in maintaining a positive communication link
between parents and the school. Please
review your child’s agenda daily and sign the date to let us know it has been
received. If you have further
questions or would like more information about something, please don’t
hesitate to phone. When
picking up your children, please do not walk through or park in the parking lot
as it causes a flow of traffic in an unsafe area. Senior girls volleyball is back in action.
They started their league season this past weekend in Claresholm,
bringing home 3rd place. Way to go girls! Awards Ceremony: Bashaw School’s 11th Annual
Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 28 at 2:00 pm.
