BATTLE RIVER SCHOOLS’ KINDERGARTEN

2010-11 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Parents of prospective kindergarten students are invited to inquire about the exceptional programs available in Battle River School Division. Our schools share a common vision of fostering pride, respect and success in diverse learning environments.

Battle River schools are now accepting registrations for the 2010-2011 school year. Kindergarten classes at schools with Full Day programs operate 2 – 3 days per week for a total of 475 hours. Classes at schools with Half Day programs operate Monday to Friday for a total of 475 hours. Exact calendars will be provided by each school prior to start up.

Eligible children must turn 5 years of age before March 1, 2011

Orientation Days will be organized by the individual schools. Information will be provided at registration time.

Fees: there are no instructional fees charged for kindergarten students in BRSD.

Children who are eligible for kindergarten programs in September 2010 can be registered during regular school hours at the following schools. Copies of birth certificates are required as part of the registration package. Please bring them when you register your child.

City of Camrose

Rural parents will be asked to provide a legal land description.

In these City of Camrose schools, any Transportation inquiries should be directed to the BRSD Transportation Department, at 780-672-6131.

Cornerstone Christian Academy offers a Full Day English Program, Principal Steve Ioanidis, 780-672-7191, 221 Thompson Street, Kingman. Please direct transportation inquiries directly to Cornerstone Christian Academy.

County Schools

In all Counties, schools will notify the Transportation Department of your child’s registration for Kindergarten. Routes will be planned accordingly and parents notified of pick-up and drop-off details prior to school start-up in the fall.
