bulletAttendance and academic progress is monitored on a weekly basis. All students are required to meet with their teachers on a weekly basis to set and monitor goals. The objective is for students to acquire their High School Diploma.
bulletPACE Outreach School offers High School core and optional credit courses to students in grade 10 to 12.
bulletPACE Outreach School uses Alberta Education Correspondence Material in combination with direct instruct classes. Courses are set up so students can work at their own pace, or partake in classroom group instruction.
bulletPACE offers flexible scheduling to allow for part time jobs, child care, and other personal circumstances.
bulletStudents registered at a traditional school must complete a referral form prior to an interview with any potential PACE student. Approval to attend PACE Outreach is at the discretion of the student, the parents, and the principal. PACE staff will interview all applicants and then choose appropriate candidates for the program.
bulletProgress is monitored through attendance in the program, completed assignments, phone calls home, and home visits.
bulletAll textbooks and course materials are supplied by PACE Outreach School.
bulletFinal exams are written at the PACE Outreach School, marked on site and final marks are submitted to Alberta Learning.
bulletStudents must complete a minimum of 8 credits before they can return to any traditional high school within BRRD #31.
bulletPACE Outreach staff provide support to students in their individual areas of need. i.e. academic, social, personal, agency relations, and family relations.
bulletThe teacher, caseworker, and students form a triad with student success as its center.
bulletParental involvement in the Outreach program is strongly encouraged.
