 | Attendance and academic progress is monitored on a weekly basis. All students are
required to meet with their teachers on a weekly basis to set and monitor goals. The
objective is for students to acquire their High School Diploma. |
 | PACE Outreach School offers High School core and optional credit courses to students in
grade 10 to 12. |
 | PACE Outreach School uses Alberta Education
Correspondence Material in combination with
direct
instruct classes. Courses are set up so students can work at their own pace, or partake in
classroom group instruction. |
 | PACE offers flexible scheduling to allow for part time jobs, child care, and other
personal circumstances. |
 | Students registered at a traditional school must complete a referral form prior to an interview with any potential PACE student. Approval to attend PACE
Outreach is at the discretion of the student, the parents, and the principal. PACE staff
will interview all applicants and then choose appropriate candidates for the program. |
 | Progress is monitored through attendance in the program, completed assignments, phone
calls home, and home visits. |
 | All textbooks and course materials are supplied by PACE Outreach School. |
 | Final exams are written at the PACE Outreach School, marked on site and final marks are
submitted to Alberta Learning. |
 | Students must complete a minimum of 8 credits before they can return to any traditional
high school within BRRD #31. |
 | PACE Outreach staff provide support to students in their individual areas of need. i.e.
academic, social, personal, agency relations, and family relations. |
 | The teacher, caseworker, and students form a triad with student success as its center. |
 | Parental involvement in the Outreach program is strongly encouraged. |
