Forestburg School serves the communities of Forestburg, Galahad, Heisler and surrounding areas. The school has 290 students from kindergarten to Grade 12. Our dedicated teaching staff provides instruction in a safe and caring environment where all students are encouraged to achieve to the best of their abilities. We have strong support from our educational aides, parent council, community and many volunteers. In addition to all the core courses, programs include Art, Music (choral and band), Special Needs, CTS, RAP, Green Certificate and Work Experience. Counselling services are available to all students. There are two well-equipped computer labs and a large library. Forestburg students experience considerable academic success. Results of the Provincial Achievement Tests and Diploma Exams consistently find our students outperforming those from across the province, with large numbers meeting the acceptable standard and many achieving the standard of excellence. Each year a significant number of graduates win Rutherford Scholarships.
Forestburg School is active! We have two gymnasiums and a mezzanine exercise room that enhance our physical education program. Students in Grades 7–12 compete in a variety of league and tournament sports. There are junior and senior high students’ unions, a junior/senior high chorus and a travel club. In elementary, students participate in the DARE program, track meet, volleyball basketball, and choir.
