New Norway School has a population of 308 students in Grades 1-12. A complete high school academic program is available in addition to a CTS (Career & Technology Studies) program for junior and senior high students. Through distance education, approximately 80 different courses can be taken. Our Resource Room provides a “total pull-out” program for special needs students from Grades 1 to 6; a modified program for math and language arts for students in Grades 7 to 9. A healthy Fine Arts program includes Band, Choral Singing, Art and Drama. Junior and senior high Student Unions organize events such as ski trips and dances. The New Norway Early Childhood Services is privately operated in a building on the school grounds adjacent to the school. Kindergarten makes use of the school’s library and gym as well as sharing many other school services. Extra-curricular sport programs have teacher coaching in a variety of disciplines. D.A.R.E. is offered to our Grade 6 students by the Camrose detachment of the R.C.M.P.

With the establishment of a professional and a semi-professional audio-visual production studio which uses computer enhanced technology, we have expanded our CTS offerings to include 21 new modules in Design Studies and Communication Technology. Additional CTS offerings include Work Experience, Work Study and Special Projects, which assist students in making career choices.
