Tofield School is a vibrant community of
over 50 dedicated staff and 500 students in Grades 5 to 12. We have an active
School Council and strong academic, athletic, counselling and special needs
programs. Teachers also sponsor leadership groups such as the Tofield
Students’ Union (Grades 9 to 12), & the Titan Council (Grades 5 to 8). We
have introduced Music/Band/Drama/Art at the elementary and junior high levels
and Drama at the senior high level, which enables staff and students to offer
performances. As well, we have a broad offering of CTS courses including
Communication Technology, Construction Technology, Design Studies, Fabrication
Studies, Foods, and Information Processing. French as a Second Language is
taught from Grades 5 through 12. Career and Personal Counselling are available
to students and opportunities are provided for students to reach goals through
conferences such as Career Days and motivational speakers. Teacher teams
collaborate on the educational and mental well-being of students. Students are
provided with opportunities to increase their developmental assets while staff
recognizes their successes and individual milestones. We rely on the
support of our community agencies and parents to assist us in these endeavours.
Ryley School offers a K & E (Knowledge and Employability) program for Tofield students more inclined to follow
a trades-oriented educational route.
Several programs are available to students who may not fit the regular academic
mould. NorthStar Outreach offers a variety of core subject and option courses at
the Grades 10 -12 level to young people, aged 16-20, who are interested in an
alternate learning environment. Using a combination of Distance Learning
materials and teacher-made resources, students work at their own pace.
