Battle River School Division offers summer Reading University during the month of July. We are very fortunate to offer this program to our students and would like to thank the Battle River Community Foundation for their continued support of this valuable program. This program is available to students who have just completed either Grade 2 or Grade 3, who are capable of reading but who need that extra support, confidence and practice to to be able to read at grade level. (Note: Reading University is not intended for FSL, ELL or IPP students). Students can only be referred to the program by their classroom teacher
BRSD hosts three Reading University Campuses: Camrose (Augustana Campus), Flagstaff County (Killam) and Tofield (C.W. Sears). The City of Camrose program will include students who attend school in the City of Camrose and Camrose County. The Flagstaff program serves the school communities of Hardisty, Sedgewick, Viking, Daysland, Killam and Forestburg. The Tofield program will serve students from C.W. Sears, Holden and Round Hill. Students who attend Reading University are provided with busing from their home to their campus.
Dates and details of the 2019 program have not been finalized. Information is usually sent to families of those being referred to Reading University just prior to Spring Break.
