BATTLE RIVER SCHOOL DIVISION invites applications for French Immersion teachers for anticipated leaves for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.

Battle River School Division serves the educational needs of 6300 students with approximately 400 teachers and 480 support staff to support the following suite of educational programs:

  • 21 Traditional Schools,
  • 3 Dual Track French Immersion Schools,
  • 10 Colony Schools,
  • 1 Online School,
  • 3 Outreach Schools,
  • 1 Summer School      

BRSD offers French Immersion programming from K - 12, in dual track settings in the following schools located in Camrose, Alberta:  

Ecole Camrose Composite High School - Grades 9-12

Ecole Charlie Killam - Grades 6-8

Ecole Sifton - Grades K-5

 

In anticipation of potential vacancies for the remainder of 2019-2020, we invite applications from new grads (who are awaiting their Teacher Certification) as well as experienced teachers.

 

Preferred Applicants for K-12 positons will have:

  • a demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in French and English
  • training and experience in French Immersion
  • strong interpersonal and relational skills with students.
  • a proven ability to work collaboratively as part of an educational team
  • a willingness and ability to be involved in all aspects of the overall school program.
  • a willingness to support FIM parents
  • strong communication skills
  • a passion for promoting and being am ambassador of the French Language & Culture in the School Division

Early Learning & ECS

  • a major program concentration in the area of early childhood education, a kindergarten methodology course or equivalent training/experience
  • strong interpersonal and relational skills with young children
  • experience in Balanced literacy, music and Assessment for Learning would be an asset

Elementary

  • a major program concentration in the area of elementary education, methodology courses or equivalent training / experience
  • strong interpersonal and relational skills with children
  • experience in Balanced literacy, music and Assessment for Learning would be an asset

Secondary

  • a major program concentration in the area of secondary education, methodology courses or equivalent training/experience.

Successful candidates will be required to submit a Criminal Records Check including the Vulnerable Sector as well as an Intervention Record Check to Human Resources Department within 30 days of hire date.
