Frequently Asked Questions

What is so great about a Christian school?

Being able to share and live our faith in fellowship at a Christian school creates awesome opportunities for our students to grow and mature in their faith.  There are several Bible verses about sharing and living faith in fellowship with one another including Colossians 3:15-17 which says, "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." NIV

Serving others and connecting with the world at large is also a focus so that students at Cornerstone are not naive to the ways of our world.  Students at Cornerstone are encouraged to believe, learn, act and grow, all through an understanding that we are created to be an influence in the world.

What denomination of faith are students at Cornerstone Christian Academy from?

Cornerstone Christian Academy is a non-denominational Christian school and has students from many different denominations represented by local Christian churches and Christian faith communities.

How is faith built into the school's programs?

Faith is built into the school's programs in numerous ways. Every morning students begin the day with Bible class which includes devotions, prayers, and lessons and chapel services are also held once a week.  In all of the school's activities, including classes, faith is seen as an integral part of who we are and is therefore an integral part of what we do.

How is the Cornerstone Christian Academy Society involved?

The Cornerstone Christian Academy Society and Battle River School Division are in partnership to provide educational opportunities for our students.  The Society owns and is responsible for the building and the busses and for ensuring the integrity of the faith education at the school.  A tuition fee is required to cover these expenses.  Battle River School Division is responsible for the instructional needs and resources at the school.

How does the four-day school week work?

Cornerstone Christian Academy has a four-day school week, so for most weeks, the school is only open Monday-Thursday.  On weeks where there is a Monday with no school (for a holiday or PD day, etc.), then the school would be open the Friday of that week to maintain the four-day week.  Classes start earlier in the morning, end later in the afternoon, and there is a shorter lunch period to ensure that students are receiving the proper amount of instruction.

Is there a tuition cost?

Since the building and the bussing are operated by the Cornerstone Christian Academy Society, there are fees to cover these expenses.  Instructional costs are generally covered by funding from Battle River School Division.  Please see our Society Fees page.

How do I register?

Please contact our office and we will provide the necessary paperwork for registration and to help get bussing arranged, etc. Please see our page on Registration.
