The Board of Trustees of Battle River School Division is very pleased to announce the selection of a new Superintendent of Schools, who will join the BRSD team on August 8.
Rhae-Ann Holoien is the successful candidate to take on the role of BRSD Superintendent, following the retirement of Dr. Rita Marler.
Mrs. Holoien has a lengthy career in education and educational leadership, which spans two provinces. She is currently the Superintendent of Schools for Buffalo Trail Public Schools.
BRSD Board Chair Karen Belich identified that Trustees are very pleased to have been able to select a candidate who has extensive knowledge and experience in rural Alberta, while also placing a strong emphasis on student success, positive community relationships and developing the leadership capacity of others. “We are looking forward to working with Mrs. Holoien to continue the good work that our school division has been doing in these areas.”
Current Superintendent, Dr. Rita Marler, concurs, saying ”Mrs. Holoien is a well-respected educational leader who is a strong advocate of students and rural education. Battle River will be in very capable hands.”
Mrs. Holoien, who holds a Masters of Education Degree, shares that she is excited about the future.
“I am deeply honored and proud to be joining the team at Battle River School Division. Building on the outstanding work of Dr. Rita Marler, I am committed to upholding the Division’s legacy of excellence and collaborating with the Board, staff, and families to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.
Together, we will continue to work towards the vision of Every Student. Every Day. A Success. I look forward to meeting the staff, students, and families.”
