Alternative Learning

Offered at:

If you are interested in an At Home Learning program for 2021-2022 please read through the following options, depending on your grade.

Students in grades 1-9 can register through Battle River Alternative Centre for Education (BRACE) for an online, teacher led program.

Students in grades 10-12 can register at their home school, and let their school administrators know they would like to blend and take online programming. Students in high school can take as many courses as they would like through BRACE, while still being enrolled at their home school. This is known as a blended learner. This will allow students to take part in school sports, their home school graduation, and also take courses through their home school as well.

Please contact Mrs. Laura Swanson, Principal, for more information at lswanson@brsd.ab.ca or 780-672-2205.

The Division offers a French Immersion program within the City of Camrose. The program is located in 3 dual track schools:

The program is continuing to expand as more students enrol and more course offerings are added. French immersion is a highly successful approach to second language learning - an effective way for students to become functionally fluent in French while achieving all of the objectives laid out by Alberta Learning. French is the language of instruction for a significant part of the school day; that is, several or all subjects, except English Language Arts, are taught in French. This program is designed for students whose first language is not French.

If you are interested in a parent led home school experience for 2021-2022, please see the Home Education Handbook information below.
