BRSD Board holds annual Organizational Meeting
Posted on:The Battle River School Division Board of Trustees held its annual Organizational Meeting on August 31, to kick off the 2022-2023 school year.
Among the first orders of business was the selection of a Chair and Vice Chair for the year ahead. Camrose County Trustee Karen Belich will continue in the role of Board Chair, while City of Camrose Trustee Doug Algar will take on the role of Vice Chair.
The Board also confirmed its committee structure and committee membership for 2022-2023, as well as taking care of some of the basic business matters such as signing authority, meeting dates, etc.
The Organizational Meeting also included words of welcome and optimism from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Rita Marler, who spoke to the excitement of starting a new school year and looking forward to working together with the Board to make decisions in the best interests of all students, as the Division continues to strive toward the vision of Every Student, Every Day, A Success.
The first regular Board meeting of the school year will take place Thursday, September 22.
